Our Story

We Are the Ones We've Been Waiting For

BrightStar was born from lived experience — a decade of managing world-renowned artists, navigating the challenges of conscious events, and wishing for a platform that truly served our community.

Built by Artists, for Artists

For ten years, I managed Snatam Kaur as she grew from beloved kirtan artist to world-renowned spiritual musician. It was a journey of devotion, logistics, and constant problem-solving.

Along the way, I encountered every challenge an artist and event organizer could face — fragmented ticketing platforms, disconnected audiences, tools that extracted value rather than created it. I saw the same struggles repeated across the conscious music community.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for."

That quote became the catalyst. If no platform existed to serve our community with integrity, we would build it ourselves. BrightStar was created not as a business opportunity, but as an act of seva — service to the artists, teachers, and seekers who gather in sacred spaces.

The Full Story: Our Founder's Journey

Growing Up in Sacred Community

My journey with conscious events began long before I ever thought about ticketing platforms or event technology. I was raised in an ashram — a spiritual community dedicated to the practice of Kundalini Yoga and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. From my earliest memories, I was surrounded by meditation, sacred music, and the rhythms of communal living. Morning sadhana at 4am, langar (community meals), and the constant presence of devotional music were simply the fabric of daily life.

This upbringing gave me something that no business school could teach: an intuitive understanding of what makes conscious gatherings sacred. I learned that events aren't just logistics — they're containers for transformation.

The Decade That Shaped Everything

My father, GuruGanesha Singh, was a pioneering figure in conscious music. As the founder of Spirit Voyage Records, he helped bring sacred chant music to audiences worldwide. Growing up in his orbit meant being surrounded by artists, musicians, and spiritual teachers who were doing the sacred work of bringing people together through sound and practice.

When I began managing Snatam Kaur, I stepped into the operational reality of conscious events. Over ten years, I watched her grow from a beloved kirtan artist into a world-renowned spiritual musician.

Why We Built BrightStar

The challenges I faced weren't unique to Snatam Kaur's tours. I saw the same struggles repeated across the conscious music community: ticketing platforms that extracted fees without adding value, audience data that disappeared into corporate databases, tools designed for corporate events that felt misaligned with sacred gatherings.

When I finally accepted that no such platform existed, I remembered the words: "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Looking Forward: The Movement We're Building

BrightStar's vision extends beyond ticketing. We see ourselves as the organizing principle for a movement that forgot it was one. The conscious events community — spanning yoga, meditation, kirtan, wellness, and spiritual practice — represents millions of seekers worldwide.

This is the future we're building. Don't get left in the dark.
